The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Defense Ministry said the country’s air defenses detected and destroyed nine ballistic missiles. Additionally, the ministry said that 112 drones were detected, 109 of which were intercepted, while three fell in its territory. The UAE did not detail where the drones fell or whether there was any damage.
“Since the start of the brazen Iranian aggression, 205 ballistic missiles have been detected, with 190 ballistic missiles destroyed, while 13 of them fell in the sea, and 2 missiles fell within the country’s territory,” the ministry said, according to a Grok translation. The ministry added that 1,184 Iranian drones were detected, with 1,110 intercepted and 74 falling within the country’s territory. It said 8 cruise missiles were detected and destroyed.
The ministry said the attack resulted in three deaths of Pakistani, Nepalese and Bangladeshi nationalities and 112 minor injuries among various nationalities, including Emirati, Egyptian, Ethiopian, Filipino, Pakistani, Iranian, Indian, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan, Azerbaijani, Yemeni, Ugandan, Eritrean, Lebanese, Afghan, Bahraini, Comorian and Turkish.
“The Ministry of Defense affirms that it is on high alert and readiness to deal with any threats, and to firmly confront everything that targets undermining the state’s security, thereby ensuring the preservation of its sovereignty, security, and stability, and protecting its interests and national capabilities,” a statement read.
