AUSTIN, TX – The National Association for Gun Rights PAC (NAGR PAC) announced Tuesday its endorsement of Congressman Chip Roy for Texas Attorney General, citing his unmatched record of fighting gun control and standing firm on principle when it mattered most.
While many Republicans caved to pressure or sought political cover, Roy consistently chose the hard right over the easy wrong, often standing alone to defend the rights of gun owners.
“Chip Roy has been one of the most fearless defenders of the Second Amendment in the entire U.S. House,” said Dudley Brown, President of the National Association for Gun Rights. “He doesn’t water it down, he doesn’t negotiate away your rights; he fights like hell to protect them.”
Roy co-sponsored one of the most pro-gun bills to be offered, H.R. 645, the Real Constitutional Carry Act, which affirms the right of all Americans to carry a firearm—no government permission slip required.
He also co-sponsored the No REGISTRY Act to prohibit a federal gun owner database, and authored the No Backdoor Gun Control Act to block bureaucrats from enacting gun control by executive fiat.
When Congress passed John Cornyn’s disastrous Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, the largest federal gun control expansion in decades, Roy stood firm and voted NO, rejecting the Red Flag bribes and billions in anti-gun slush funding that came with it.
His consistency, courage, and clarity of purpose earned him NAGR’s .50 Cal Freedom Award in 2022, an honor given only to the most principled and effective champions of the Second Amendment.
“Roy doesn’t just vote the right way—he leads,” Brown continued. “Texas gun owners can count on him to take that same tenacity into the Attorney General’s office, where he’ll sue the federal government, defend Constitutional Carry, and crush any attempt to strip away our rights.”
