Pro-gun advocates gathered outside Virginia’s Capitol on Monday while opposing newly-filed gun control measures.
On Monday, thousands gun rights supporters gathered at Capitol Square for Virginia’s annual Lobby Day, visibly larger than in recent years as Democrats now lead the legislature and governorship.
Crowd-goers and speakers urged lawmakers to leave Virginians’ Second Amendment rights alone.
The National Association for Gun Rights showed up in full-force, speaking with gun rights patriots and collecting petitions against any gun control measures that gain steam in Richmond this legislative cycle.
Speakers even reminded the crowd that when Democrats last controlled the state in 2020, sweeping gun restrictions were passed and signed into law.
Recent laws introduced in the Old Dominion include a so-called “Assault Weapons” Ban, which would ban firearms based merely on cosmetics.
Additionally, a $500 suppressor tax, bans on homemade firearms, and expanded liability are just a few gun control items that have been introduced.
The National Association for Gun Rights is urging Virginians to contact key Representatives on select Committees to make it clear that gun owners are opposing their gun control legislation.
