House lawmakers grilled school superintendents from Chicago, San Francisco and Loudoun County, Va., during a contentious hearing on parental rights in public schools. Rep. Lisa McClain, R-Mich., criticized the superintendents for what she said was their refusal to answer questions about inappropriate content and alleged political indoctrination, including drag queen story hours and discussions about gender identity. McClain argued that Congress should consider pulling federal funding from the districts.
