Alton Brown recently opened up about the one snack he says transports him back to childhood.
The “Good Eats” star recently appeared on an episode of Mythical Kitchen’s “Last Meals,” a podcast in which celebrity guests discuss the meal they’d choose and reflect on the moments that shaped their lives.
Brown said his ideal final feast would include a variety of foods, including lamb and seafood.

His chosen meal would also feature upscale offerings, including a Port-soaked pear and Kusshi oysters served with white wine.
The TV personality notably included one simple childhood favorite near the end: Girl Scout cookies.
Brown, 63, told host Josh Scherer that Thin Mints would be part of his last meal.
“I remember being given my first Girl Scout cookie by Mom and thinking, ‘This is everything I want for the rest of my life,’” he said.
Brown even jokingly compared the Thin Mint to the Holy Communion, breaking it in front of the camera before taking a bite.

“To this day, even though the recipe has changed many times, this is my only connection left to childhood,” he said. “Everything else has been changed, mutated. This is the only flavor that I can draw a direct line back all the way to being, like, 5.”
Regarding the recipe changes, he added, “I mean, has it changed? A little bit, but not by much.”

Many viewers were touched by the way Brown spoke about his childhood favorite.
“Alton speaks for America on this,” one TikTok user said.

A third commenter said, “Hear me out …. Girl Scout cookies AND the smell of Play-doh.”
Even one critic of Brown wrote that they found the moment genuine.

“I feel like these days, I see a lot of pretension in Alton, it almost comes across as elitism,” one TikTok user wrote. “But this pure enjoyment of something so simple and mass-produced makes me feel like I used to about his content. It made me smile, it feels really honest.”
