Second Amendment record sets Norman apart as he heads into August 25 Republican runoff against Darline Graham
South Carolina voters will return to the polls August 25 for a Republican Senate runoff between former State Senator Darline Graham and U.S. Rep. Ralph Norman, after neither candidate secured a majority in August 11th’s crowded special primary.
Graham finished first with roughly 33% of the vote, while Norman advanced with approximately 24%, putting the two candidates on a collision course to determine the Republican nominee for the Senate seat left vacant by the death of Sen. Lindsey Graham.
For Second Amendment voters, the runoff also features a significant distinction: NAGR-PAC has endorsed Ralph Norman for U.S. Senate.
Norman has built a lengthy record in Congress supporting gun rights and opposing federal gun control measures.
In 2022, for example, Norman publicly announced that he would oppose the bipartisan gun control legislation moving through Congress, specifically objecting to its “Red Flag” Gun Confiscation provisions and other restrictions.
As of the past week, Norman signed onto a Congressional letter urging the White House and Department of Justice to not appeal a recent court victory for gun owners that struck down the registration requirement of NFA-related firearms and accessories.
That record is one reason NAGR-PAC has backed Norman in the special election, identifying him as the candidate with the stronger demonstrated commitment to defending the Second Amendment in Washington.
Norman has spent nearly a decade in Congress, giving gun rights voters an extensive voting and legislative record to examine before the runoff.
Graham was appointed to the Senate in July to temporarily fill her late brother’s seat and has only recently begun serving in the chamber.
The special election has attracted national attention, with Graham receiving endorsements from President Donald Trump and other prominent Republicans, while Norman has emphasized his conservative record and experience in Congress.
The August 25 runoff will determine which Republican advances to the November general election, where the nominee will face Democrat Annie Andrews.
For South Carolina gun owners, the contest provides a clear choice between a candidate who has recently entered the Senate and a candidate with a documented pro-gun Congressional record.
NAGR-PAC’s endorsement makes its position clear: Ralph Norman is the candidate the organization believes will provide the strongest defense of the right to keep and bear arms in the U.S. Senate.
The outcome of the runoff will determine whether South Carolina sends Norman to Washington with a mandate to continue that record in the Senate.
