Dear Senator Daines and Congresswoman Stefanik:

On behalf of AMAC Action, the advocacy affiliate of the Association of Mature American Citizens, with over 2 million members nationwide, I write to express our strong support for your bipartisan legislation, S. 2195 and H.R. 4901, the WWII Nurses Congressional Gold Medal Act, recognizing the courageous women of the United States Army Nurse Corps and the United States Navy Nurse Corps who served during World War II.

These remarkable women answered the call of duty when our nation faced its greatest peril. They tended to the wounded on the front lines, in field hospitals, and aboard ships, often under fire and in unimaginably difficult conditions. Many sacrificed their health, and some gave their lives to the service of our troops and in defense of liberty. Their service embodies the selflessness, moral courage, and devotion to country that defines the Greatest Generation.

AMAC Action believes it is both fitting and long overdue that Congress formally recognizes these heroes. Honoring World War II nurses with a Congressional Gold Medal sends a vital message to future generations about the values that built and sustained our nation: duty, sacrifice, faith, and love of country. We commend you for your bipartisan leadership in advancing this measure. During a time when our nation yearns for unity, this legislation reminds us that Americans of every background can come together to honor those who defended freedom. We look forward to helping you move this legislation forward in the 119th Congress.

Sincerely,

Andrew J. Mangione Jr.
Senior Vice President
